On May 9, 2025, the students of South Philippine Adventist College (SPAC), in collaboration with the National Service Training Program (NSTP), spearheaded asuccessful coastal clean-up drive with the theme "Sea The Change." The event, held along the shores of Digos City, was made possible with the full support of the City Government of Digos and the active participation of the SPAC faculty and community members.
The clean-up drive served as an environmental advocacy campaign, emphasizing the role of youth in protecting and preserving marine ecosystems. Students and volunteers gathered early in the morning, equipped with cleaning materials and a shared mission to restore the beauty of the coastline. They collected plastic waste, bottles, wrappers, and other debris, helping to reduce pollution and raise awareness about the impact of human activities on the ocean.
This initiative is part of SPAC’s continuing commitment to community service and environmental stewardship. Through their efforts, the NSTP students demonstrated that small actions—like picking up trash—can lead to big changes for the planet.
"Sea The Change" was not just a slogan but a call to action. The event reminded everyone that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility, and that a cleaner coast means a brighter future for generations to come.
The SPAC community hopes to inspire more institutions and individuals to join hands in protecting nature, starting with our very own shores.
