SPAC proudly took part in the 25th AIIAS International Research Conference, held from November 19 to 21, 2024, at the AIIAS Campus. Organized by the Adventist International Institute of Advance Studies (AIIAS) Graduate School, the event carried the theme “Knowledge, Innovation, and Integrity in the 4th Industrial Revolution for a Sustainable Future.”
The conference gathered researchers, educators, and students to discuss innovations and challenges in business, education, and public health. SPAC contributed significantly to the event, with four research groups presenting their studies to a diverse audience of academics and professionals.
SPAC Presenters and Research Highlights:
1. Levie Mae Canastra (BSED English IV) presented her study titled “Predictive Effect of Emotional Intelligence and Academic Grit to Social Loafing,” co-authored by Roxanne Solon. This research explored how emotional intelligence and grit influence group dynamics and performance in academic settings.
2. Dhowelyn Gelig and Loresil Tamparong (BSED Mathematics IV), together with co-author Vince Ryan Perez, delivered a presentation on “The Moderating Effect of Socioeconomic Status to the Relationship Among Motivation, Mindset, and Grit in Mathematics of Students.” Their research examined how socioeconomic factors impact students’ perseverance and success in mathematics.
3. Novy Grace Caldo (BSED English IV) shared her study, “Willingness to Communicate: The Experiences of English Majors in English Language Communication,” co-authored by Janasel Espinosa. This work provided insights into the challenges and growth of English majors in using the language effectively.
4. Reggie Mativo (Faculty) presented “Development and Validation of Self-Efficacy Scale in Adventist Education,” co-authored by Sugar Jan Mamac and Roden Ramoran. The study focused on creating a reliable self-efficacy scale tailored to the unique educational principles of Adventist schools.
SPAC’s participation in the international event underscores the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and its active role in addressing critical issues in education. The college congratulates its presenters and their co-authors for their exemplary contributions and for representing SPAC with pride on the global stage.
