A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for SPAC as construction officially commenced on the expansion of the Nursing Skills Laboratory. This much-needed upgrade will provide students with modern training facilities to better prepare them for real-world healthcare settings.
The event brought together key figures from the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SEPUM), SPAC administrators, the Dean of the School of Nursing, the Project Architect, and select faculty and staff. Their presence highlighted strong support for the preparation and compliance efforts required for the approval of the Nursing program.
Dr. Lotchie Genon, SPAC Vice President for Academics, shared that the increasing demand for an Adventist nursing school within SEPUM inspired the initiative. Beyond meeting requirements, the expansion aims to provide students with top-notch training that will equip them to serve effectively in the healthcare field.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Pr. Reynald Dela Cruz, SEPUM Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries Director, donated a Basic Life Support (BLS) Pedia Model to the SPAC School of Nursing. This valuable contribution will help enhance hands-on learning experiences for students preparing for emergency medical situations.
The expansion follows the recommendation of the CHED RO XI Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) during their recent visit. This initiative reflects SPAC’s commitment not just to meeting regulatory requirements but to delivering excellence in nursing education. The Nursing Skills Laboratory expansion is a crucial step in ensuring students receive high-quality training that aligns with industry standards. Construction will begin immediately, with completion expected in the coming months. The entire SPAC community looks forward to the enhanced facilities that will better equip future nurses and contribute to the healthcare sector.
