South Philippine Adventist College sent 33 faculty and student participants to the 3rd Adventist Human-Subject Research Association–Asia (AHSRA-Asia) Research Conference held September 2–3, 2026, at Mountain View College in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

The SPAC delegation included 11 faculty members and 21 students from the School of Teacher Education, School of Business Administration, and School of Theology. Their participation included research presentations and discussions under the conference theme, “I WILL GO: Collaboration, Conversations, and Celebration through Research.”

SPAC also figured in the conference’s Research Excellence Award through a study jointly conducted with Mindanao Mission Academy (MMA). “Disconnect to Reconnect: Implementing the ‘No Gadget Policy’ in an Adventist High School in Mindanao” was named one of the three top research studies recognized during the conference.

The study was authored by Karel Mei Banay and Richard Banay of SPAC, and Kirche May Ablo-Samorin and Kizzia Lorraine Tabaosares of MMA.

The conference gave SPAC faculty and students an opportunity to share their research and take part in conversations with researchers from other Adventist institutions. The recognition of the SPAC-MMA study also highlighted the value of collaboration in pursuing research on issues affecting Adventist education.
